I'm 16 and I shave, mainly because it feels much better and cleaner during the period, but it's really up to you.

I think having to do most of you, the hair with scissors to cut a length of 1 / 4-1 / 2 inches, especially below. Shave closer to this can be very uncomfortable itching as hair grows.
